International urban photography with my 1962 Rolleicord medium format camera drives my practice. The medium of film continues to excite my imagination with the endless possibilities of "light art" which is essentially what photography is. I have travelled to Las Vegas, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Taipei, and Paris with the intention to reveal beauty in the vernacular of our day to day living spaces through the art of film photography.
My previous experience includes several years photographing portraits for thousands of people in northern Canada. Some of the communities I have worked in include Tuktoyuktuk, Pangnirtung, Inuvik, Iqaluit, the communities of Nunavik, the Sahtu communities of the North West Territories, Rankin Inlet, L'utsel K'e, Norway House, Attawapiskat and Yellowknife among many others. My formal education consisted of a heavy darkroom component, including processing film and printing colour and black and white photographs on various paper media. In my younger days I photographed for Sears Portrait Studio and I have shown my photographic works in art galleries throughout North America.
Since 2009, my business Losho has been bringing wedding and portrait photography to Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia. With a diverse portrait and wedding photography background, I can work comfortably in any number of odd situations. I photograph with a Canon 6D Digital SLR camera and also offer film photography by request. Usually I photograph outdoors using available light or a portable flash. If you desire indoor studio portraits (using 2 strobes and a backdrop) for your portrait session, I am able to provide that for no extra cost on location. I encourage you to check out my latest feature in Sonofagun Magazine here. I strive to continue providing the highest quality photographs to my diverse clients and thank you so much for dropping in to visit the site!
